Net4CO2 is committed to advocating for solutions that align with its mission of creating a sustainable CO₂ economy and fostering a resilient future. As global warming’s impacts intensify, we focus on exploring, promoting, and advocating for technologies, policies, and regulations to mitigate carbon emissions. In 2023, our business development team initiated continuous monitoring of regulatory developments, particularly around Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). This report outlines our perspective on CCUS, carbon markets, and decarbonization strategies. It includes feedback on key initiatives such as Portugal’s voluntary carbon markets, the EU’s Industrial Carbon Management Strategy, and the Portuguese National Climate and Energy Plan (PNEC2030). The report provides in-depth insights into challenges and strategic recommendations to guide policymakers, industry stakeholders, and the public in advancing effective climate action and CCUS integration.
