Project Description
This project aims to develop a new industrial process for the continuous production of liquid hydrocarbons form syngas (H2 + CO) using the Fischer-Tropsch reaction. This will be achieved through the design and development of NetMIX-based reactors and research of efficient methods for the fixation of catalytic films on metal alloy plates.
Main Outcomes
Construction of a Micro-Scale Reactor: Design, development and construction of planar reactor aiming to operate at 40 bar and 250 ºC, including development of high temperature sealing solution.
Construction of a Micro-Scale Prototype: Prototype able to produce syncrude from CO and H2, at a rate up to 24 L/min, at pressure up to 40 bar and temperature up to 250 ºC.
Construction of a Meso-Scale Prototype: Prototype able to produce syncrude from CO and H2, at a rate up to 150 L/min, at pressure up to 40 bar and temperature up to 250 ºC.
Production of Syncrude: Production of syncrude using technology developed by NET4CO2, coupled with catalytic materials and formulations developed by partners.
